How our offer works

The journey of every portfolio company we work with starts on our Tech For Good Programme and our initial investment of £60,000 for 7% equity.

The BGV Platform is available to all our portfolio on an ongoing basis. We further invest into our most promising portfolio companies from pre-seed to Series A.

Supporting teams with all-things early-stage and impact is what we do best. We’ve also been told we’re pretty great to work with.

Investment thesis

We believe that real world problems need better solutions. Pressing challenges like the climate crisis, inequality, and health.

We also believe that better solutions aren’t just good for humanity, but are the biggest economic opportunity of the future. We look for founders who share that belief and have the ambition to prove it.

We invest in ideas that harness the functions of technology - speed, scale and affordability, and business models where positive impact is innate and integral. We exist for founders that want to build the world’s most successful tech companies not just for glory, but for good.

Are you our next investment?

Not everyone can raise a first ‘friends and family’ round to help them launch a startup. But anyone with a tech for good idea can apply to BGV. We use a fair application process where no warm intro is needed.

Founder story

LVNDR

Giving LGBTQ+ people equal access to healthcare

1 in 7 LGBTQ+ individuals reportedly avoid seeking healthcare for fear of discrimination. LVNDR, built by and for the queer community, exists to right that wrong of healthcare inequality. Starting with sexual health and gender identity care, LVNDR taps into the rapidly growing market opportunities in digital health and sexual wellness.

How it started

Christopher El Badaoui, Joshua Armistead-Wood, and Araxie Boyadjian came together over their shared negative experiences within sexual healthcare systems. Inspired to make things better, they founded LVNDR with a mission to build an inclusive, safe, and improved destination for sexual care. LVNDR joined BGV’s Spring 2020 programme and have since gone from strength to strength.

How it's going

Following BGV’s programme the team joined Techstars’ 2020 London cohort. In 2021 they rebranded with a focus on empowerment and community and closed an oversubscribed £1.5M seed round led by Octopus Ventures. Co-founders Araxie and Chris were recently named on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2022.
