Impact investing market tops $1 trillion
The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) recently published its annual study sizing the market for impact investments across the globe. The GIIN now estimates the size of the impact investing market to be $1.164 trillion in assets under management (AUM), a significant increase from the last time the study was conducted.
At BGV we're proud to contribute data to this study as we recognise the need to demystify the impact investing space if we are to encourage more investors into impact investing. For well over a decade, we’ve been investing in founders who are actively contributing to solutions to some of the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. We believe that significant positive change for people and the planet can only occur if more people shift towards providing capital to impact-driven businesses.
We’re excited about the potential of what the results of the study mean. It's great to see the growth and we hope more assets will be allocated to impact investing over the next years, especially as the world faces systemic pressures and economic turbulence. So we urge investors to continue to back founders who are building tech for good businesses early on.
